One of the updates we had over the course of our regional meeting (Read about it here. See the photos here), was about the crew membership and health insurance program that ASTA provides for it’s members.
As an ASTA member, you have an opportunity to purchase health insurance through the special membership program offered through Allen Insurance and Financial. This program is based upon your mariner lifestyle both in and out of U.S. waters. Regardless of your type of vessel, you require coverage providing security, flexibility and benefits unique to today’s marine industry demands.
ASTA members can sail and travel anywhere with the confidence that they are protected with comprehensive, marine-specific coverage providing the safety they deserve. For example, trainees who are working through the summer may qualify for health coverage through the school year, at a rate that would be lower than college health coverage or their parents’ health plan.
Allen Insurance and Financial of Camden, the ASTA-endorsed insurance company, knows the importance of benefits and being a member of an association. The AIF health/medical program is for crew for ASTA mariners and their families.
