May 20, 2007- Charleston to Norfolk

Posted by astaheather on May 20, 2007

Farewell Charleston! You guys gave us a good run! I certainly wouldn’t mind coming back to Charleston. The license plates are correct, “Smiling Faces Beautiful Places”. Fort Sumter was interesting and I loved downtown Charleston. The Hibernian was beautiful and, needless to say, entertaining. At the end of the ASTA day, we went to the Picton Castle to join up for the Parade of Sail. There were so many people. At one point someone had yelled to this ship “FIRE IN THE HOLE!”. Since we did not have a cannon to fire we yelled “BANG!” in unison which was just as well recieved. Right now, I am in the gorgeous main salon of the Picton Castle. It is so roomy. I don’t have to duck to make clearance. Hate to say it, but hitting my head isn’t that fun. The bunks are nice and I have to sleep with all of my gear, which is a great perk.
