ASTA’s intrepid summer intern, Amelia, was a fly on the wall for the big reveal and the conclusion of the Blind Date game in Bermuda (read original entry here)….
Amidst cheers, and sometimes laughter, the blind dates finally meet face-to-face Tuesday night at the Dinghy Club in St. George, Bermuda.
The event, organized bythe plucky Jolie Brise, was attended mostly by crew from the Spirit of Bermuda, Urania, Tecla, Etoile and Belle Poule. Captain Toby Maris of Jolie Brise announced the couples who then came forward to the front of the stage. He was even dressed as a woman in festive clothes with a blond mop wig for the occassion!
With a shortage of girls, it was fun to watch the reactions from different crew, as well as the shouting to find people in the room to come forward. When found, the almost 90 couples went off to get to know each other. What a great way to start the festivities!
