PRIDE OF BALTIMORE 2 sails into Toronto

Yesterday was a gorgeous, windy day and the ships that arrived took full advantage of it. Pride of Baltimore 2 came in fast and flashy, tacking back and forth, then smartly pulling in the sails and coming to rest gently at thier berth. Watching Captain Miles maneuver the ship is a true vision of  sailing. Here is a captain who knows his ship and the ship is an extension of him. It is a beautiful site to see.

Samara, Libby and Becca are all here in Toronto and have been working hard. We have a great team this summer and they are eager to start blogging and sharing thier adventures. Later tonight, they will be at the Opening Ceremony over by Europa (Matty’s here! Read about his adventures over at A Young Man and the Sea) taking photos and tomorrow will be writing all about it here on the blog.

It’s hard to believe the summer series has begun and what better place to start than Toronto!

More information about the Redpath Toronto Waterfront Festival is here www.towaterfrontfest.com

There is still time to sail with the ships this summer! Go here, http://www.sailtraining.org/tallships/2010greatlakes/participatingvessels.php to find out more.
