A Shameless Rip Off

Posted by Tall Ships America on April 28, 2011

I can’t help it, the idea just festered and grew and soon I couldn’t stop making lists. There is a wonderful, well-written, feel good blog called 1000 Awesome Things. Read it, it’s awesome. The blog is simply a countdown of awesome things, from the smell of rain on a hot sidewalk to finding out your birthday is on a Friday or Saturday next year (like mine this year! Woot!) to Dinosaurs. It is incredibly successful and popular, the author having just released his second book.

The premise got me thinking. We know tall ships are awesome, that’s why we brave sweltering heat and crowds for a glimpse of  them or become part of a crew.  So why not share the awesomeness?

Also, I love a good list. Those VH1 Top 100 Whatevers are  a massive time suck and I can’t change the channel. Top 10 Deadliest Swarms on the Discovery Channel? Consider the next hour booked.

With the help of the tall ship community, I think we can easily find 1000 things to call awesome about tall ships.

Have an idea or a story you want to share? Email it to me at erin@sailtraining.org and I’ll add it to the blog with props to you.

Major credit to 1000 Awesome Things for the inspiration
