#974 Taking A Shower
Posted by Tall Ships America on August 18, 2011
Enough is enough. You’ve been at sea for a few days and it’s been great to just embrace the ship-board lifestyle. A little dirt never hurt anyone but now you grab the towel, soap, random shampoo and conditioner some passenger left behind and head on off to the shower. Wash away the grime that accumulated after a few days on the water. Get that salt off of your skin and the pine tar from under your nails.
On many of the ships, you can take quick (3 minute) showers daily as long as the water maker is working and there is H2O to spare. But you can’t linger and it’s really a quick rinse. But once in port, you don’t have to worry about keeping your balance as the ship rocks under your slippery feet, or the hot water suddenly going freezing cold when you have shampoo in your eyes. Showering, such a simple, awesome, luxury.
